Eurovision 2009

If the United Kingdom entry in the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow on 14th May, 2009 gets nil point and comes last, it will show once and for all what a farce the competition has become.  The entry this year is being written by arguably the best song writers in the World ever, music by Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber and lyrics by Diane Warren.  Any notion that the UK does not take the competition seriously enough has been blown out of the water by the BBC’s Eurovision : Your Country Needs You, which will select the best performer to sing the song written by the Lloyd-Webber/Warren dream team.  The UK will be unstopable.

Unstoppable as long as we select Jade!

  2. Unstoppable as long as we select The Twins!

I don’t much care for Lloyd-Webber’s music anyway. In any case isn’t his music just mostly one tune with different lyrics crowbarred in?

Plus, I think that this so called vote fixing is more cultural taste than political. Countries that border each other are generally less likely, not more, to show allegiances. Wogan doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and it’s a bit rich him complaining about people not voting for the UK, and not taking the competition seriously when he seems to have made a career out of doing just that himself.

However, if it causes the UK to pull out of the whole boring thing, as far as I’m concerned – RESULT!

th Twins would be a disaster, they cry every week, they wouldn’t have any stage presence, the whole night would just be too much for them. Plus they are quite weak vocally and there harmonies are non existant!
